Murl Francis “Butch” Jackson, 65, of Holts Summit passed away at Capital Region Medical Center on Friday, June 23, 2017.


He was born on March 25, 1952 in Fulton, the son of Melvin Hewlett Jackson and Edna Marie (Childress) Jackson.


Murl was preceded in death by his beloved first wife of 31 years, Nancy Ann Martin.

He was later married to Renee Marie (Lofton) Jackson who survives his passing.


Retiring from the United States Army after 22 years of service, Murl was a veteran of the Gulf War, Desert Shield, and Desert Storm.


Those remaining to cherish his memory include his wife, Renee of Holts Summit; sons, Michael Eugene Jackson (Cassie) and Marvin Jay Jackson (Zee); daughter, Christina Ann Jackson; step-daughters, Amanda Loggins (David), and Megan Nicholas; brothers, James Melvin Jackson (Wanda) and David Michael Jackson (Linda); sister, Patricia Marie Beesley (Joe); grandchildren, Nancy Jackson, Gerrit Jackson, Ciara Gonzales and Gordy and Sophie Rodriguez.


Along with his first wife, he was preceded in death by brother, Charles Morris Jackson; and sisters, Susan Marlene Ziese, Ivy May Jackson, Cleta Isabella, and Mary Eleanor Jackson.


A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 16, 2017 at Calwood Community Center in Fulton.
