ROGER D. DUNGAN

Obituary

Roger D. Dungan, 57, of Auxvasse passed peacefully on Friday, July 14, 2017 at Columbia Health Care following a valiant battle with cancer.

He was born in Fulton on September 17, 1959, the son of Frances “Dolly” (Landers) Dungan and the late Wayne Foster Dungan.

Roger worked in the construction industry, most recently for Bill Moore Construction.  His hobbies included fishing and hunting and he was known for his BBQ.  The times that brought Roger the most pleasure were those spent with family, especially his children and grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Hospice Compassus, especially nurse Megan, for the care and compassion shown to Roger and his loved ones during his illness.

He is survived by the love of his life, Eunice Frasher and her two daughters who looked up to and loved him like a father, Kate “Kater Tater” Koziatek (Andrew) of Kansas City, Ks., and Emily “Baby Girl” Koziatek (Chris) of Columbia, and five grandsons who knew him as “Paw Paw Roger”, Charlie, Andrew, David, Jeremy, and Mason.  Also surviving is Roger’s mother, Frances “Dolly” Landers of Fulton; brothers, Denny Dungan (Tammy) of Portland, and Bill Dungan (Donna) of La Vernia, Tx.; sisters, Sharon Bell (James) of Williamsburg, and Marsha Muehlman (Mark) of Columbia, Tn.; and life-long friend, Rick Moore.

Along with his father, Roger was preceded in death by brother, Jerry Dungan; and sisters, Marilyn Kay Klick, and Dorothy Ann Salmons.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Pastor Mike Crowson officiating.   The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.  Interment will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens.

Memorial donations are suggested to American Brain Tumor Association, c/o Maupin Funeral Home, 301 Douglas Boulevard, Fulton, MO 65251.

Roger once took my grandchildren to McDonald's when my wife and I were both working and could not make it into town. The only thing he had was a lawn mower to give them a ride on. He was a true friend that will be missed more than words can ever express.
