Treva Mae (Maddox) Vandeloecht, 82, of Fulton was called home to her Lord on June 3, 2017.

Born in Callaway County on May 8, 1935, Treva was the daughter of the late Fay Moore Maddox and the late Winnie Lee (Harvey) Maddox.

Always a stellar example for women in the work place, Treva was a mentor to many.  She was honored with the Athena Award in 2000 for displaying excellence in her career and encouraging women to meet their full potential.  Treva was active with the Kingdom of Callaway Chamber of Commerce where she served in many aspects including Chamber Ambassador, various board positions, numerous committees, and Women’s Network Member.  She was recognized by the Chamber membership for her commitment to the community in 2014 when she received the J. H. Atkinson Award.

Those who remain to cherish her memory include her husband of 63 years; daughter, Joneta Dudley (Dennis) of Columbia; brothers, Jack Maddox of New Bloomfield, and Elton “Corkie” Maddox (Bonnie) of Fulton; sister, Juanita Bura (Dave) of Fulton; and numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends.

To the family:
I remember listening to the Maddox Trio singing at several of the Hams Prairie and Mokane community funerals where my grandparents lived. My grandparents were friends with her parents for many years. Treva was a fine role model for many in our communities. I know the family and her many friends will miss her terribly. God be with you all right now in your sorrow. Just remember that she will be watching over you all from Heaven. Tom and I send our deep sympathies.

So sorry Bob, Joneta, and Dennis for your loss of Treva. She will always be my vision of what a strong Christian woman should be, and I always had tremendous respect for her. I know I was an unconventional member of youth activities in my early years, and I remember church camp, Bible school, and Chi-Rho activities with her vibrant spirit in the lead. If she judged me, I never suspected it. She was a kind, beautiful person who will be greatly missed in our church and community. Loved her, but I know exactly where she is and how pleased she is to be there.
